Impact Sync as part of its commitment to improving road safety and strengthening collaboration with key transport stakeholders, has extended its Kasa for Safety campaign, through its reach to the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) in the Ashanti and Western regions. These visits served as an opportunity to introduce the initiative, build momentum, and establish strategic partnerships with transport leaders in these regions.
A Welcome Collaboration with GPRTU in Kumasi

A team from Impact Sync, led by Mr. Yaw T.K. Odoom, visited the GPRTU office at Kwame Anti Building to meet Mr. Samuel Addai, Acting Regional Chairman of GPRTU Ashanti Region. Mr. Addai warmly welcomed the team, commended the Kasa for Safety initiative, and acknowledged its role in promoting transport safety. He affirmed GPRTU’s support and offered to host project activities at their office.
Following this productive meeting, Mr. Addai referred the team to Mr. Nana Opoku Amankwah, the Operations Manager of GPRTU for Kejetia Market. Notably, Mr. Amankwah is also a member of TroTro Diaries, a community of transport enthusiasts and stakeholders dedicated to enhancing the public transport system.

During discussions, Mr. Amankwah conveyed his enthusiasm for the Kasa for Safety initiative, recognizing its potential to drive positive change at Kejetia Market, one of the busiest transport hubs in the Ashanti Region. Given the market’s strategic role in public transportation, it was agreed that this location would serve as the primary site for project activities.
Engagement at Takoradi Main, Cape Coast and Mankessim Stations
The first stop was at the GPRTU Takoradi Main Station, where the team led by Mr. Yaw T.K. Odoom the Technical Lead of Impact Sync met with the Station Chairman and his Vice Chairman. They welcomed the initiative and expressed interest in learning more about how it could benefit their members and improve transport safety. The executives suggested they will be looking forward to receive the proposal outlining the project’s objectives and plans, which would be discussed at their next meeting.

Following the Takoradi Station engagement, the team took the opportunity to also engage the Officials of the Cape Coast, Mankessim Station in Takoradi, where they were redirected to the Regional GPRTU Office for further discussions. At the GPRTU Regional Office, the team had the opportunity to meet with the Regional Chairman, Vice Chairman, and First Trustee. The leadership warmly welcomed the initiative, acknowledging the need for improved safety measures within the public transport sector. They also indicated they will be looking forward to receiving a proposal and expressed their intention of a potential collaboration with Impact Sync towards Kasa for Safety Campaign.
Next Steps
The meetings in Kumasi, Takoradi, Cape Coast, and Mankessim Stations mark another significant step in expanding the reach of Kasa for Safety campaign by Impact Sync. With strong interest from regional transport leaders, the team is preparing to submit it proposals and continue engagements that will pave the way for impactful safety interventions.
